Our History

Founded in 2017 by CEO and inventor Michael Gertner, MD; and based in Issaquah, Washington, Olympic Ophthalmics is a medical device company focused on developing novel therapies to treat ophthalmic and other disease categories with high unmet needs. Our leadership team brings extensive experience in neuromodulation, energy-based technology, and medical device technology. 

Our first product, iTEAR^®100, cleared by the FDA in 2020, is a novel neurostimulation device that increases tear production through gentle stimulation of the external nasal nerve. It is drug-free and drop-free – and has been proven in robust clinical trials.
